Seismic Assessment

The Seismic Assessment report was published in April 2019. The report contains an evaluation and rating of each school. You can look at how your school is expected to fare in an earthquake based on the standard performance criteria. To our knowledge, BSD is the only district in Oregon with this level of seismic detail for each of its schools and facilities.

Facilities Condition Assessment

The Facility Condition Assessment was completed in 2019 by third-party consultant McKinstry. It evaluated the physical condition of all district facilities, both interiors and exteriors, and then assigned a score to each facility. The graphs below show the scores, age and 10-year deferred maintenance cost of each district facility. Click on each graph to view larger.

Long Range Facility Plan

The 2021 Long Range Facility Plan incorporates the population forecast completed by Portland State University, the comprehensive Facilities Conditions Assessment and Seismic Assessment report of every district-owned building.

Futures Study

The Futures Study was undertaken by BSD in 2016-2017 to consider potential scenarios which may impact the district in the next 20 to 50 years. The study is unique in that it's intended to consider future district needs well beyond that required by Oregon Revised Statute (ORS 195.110). The District uses the study as a reference point when evaluating existing and new programs.
