Project engineer & estimating intern at Anning-Johnson Company:
The intern will get hands-on experience in construction project management by working alongside a project engineer, project manager or estimator. Interns will receive mentoring and training in blueprint reading, RFI (request for information) writing, document control, quantity take-offs, estimating, scheduling, production tracking and quality control checks — providing a strong foundation for a future in the construction industry.
Architectural intern at Bassetti Architects:
This intern will job shadow and provide entry-level support for a variety of small- to mid-sized architectural projects. The primary focus will be working with the team doing the Mountain View Middle School seismic upgrades. The intern will attend meetings, go on job site walks, provide general office support and get an introduction to architectural design tools.
Construction Management and Administration Interns (3) at Beaverton School District:
These interns will assist project managers, coordinators, inspectors and support staff with tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, coordinating subcontractors, scanning and operations projects. They will gain experience with project documentation, safety protocols and quality control processes. Additionally, these interns will have the opportunity to attend site meetings, interact with various partners and learn about the different phases of architecture, engineering and construction projects.
Construction Management and Communications Intern at Beaverton School District:
This intern will have the similar experiences and opportunities as the construction management Intern position above, with additional exposure to various jobs related to marketing and communications. This may include video production (shooting and editing), photography, writing and social media management.
Architectural intern at BRIC Architecture:
This intern will be exposed to planning, architectural design, interior design and construction administration. The internship will include assisting non-architectural staff in project administration tasks such as project recordkeeping and documentation. Opportunities also will be provided to assist the marketing and business development team. The intern will have the opportunity to be part of an intern cohort with college student interns who will be working with BRIC this summer.
Architectural intern at CIDA:
This intern will operate within a 4-person architectural studio, working alongside an architect and designers on multiple aspects of projects including design, drafting, reviewing contractor RFIs (requests for information) and product submittals. They will attend virtual meetings and site walks. The intern will work on three BSD re-roofs, an adaptive reuse of a former elementary school to a new community center and a new National Guard readiness center.
Architectural intern at DLR Group:
This intern will assist architects, interior designers and/or engineers (structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing) on design projects in the K-12, civic and workplace sectors. Training in 3D modeling software and creating physical models in DLR Group's makerspace also is a possibility. Most of the work will be in the office, but there may be opportunities to accompany colleagues to project construction sites and off-site meetings for experience. DLR Group will work with the intern to craft a summer experience tailored to their interests, where possible.

The intern will assist the project manager and site project engineer in their daily roles, as well as shadow the site superintendent(s) for exposure to field operations.

The intern is responsible for providing technical support to construction staff. This role will give the intern exposure to reviewing bid and design documents while overseeing and evaluating the construction process.
Architectural intern at P & C Construction:
This intern will assist project engineers with submittal review, tracking and job site documentation. They will attend owner, architect and CM meetings and have a front row seat to how projects are managed.
